Preparing a paint palette for colour mixing
A palette is a flat surface on which to mix your colours. You will need a palette to mix your paint during all painting projects.
The dimensions of your palette will depend on the given area requiring paint coverage. For example, if you are painting on a Large canvas, you will need to mix large amount of colour to fill the size of the canvas, for this you will need a large palette allows for more room.
There is a variety of surfaces to choose from when selecting a palette:
- Glass
- Ceramic tray
- Paper palette pad
- Plain white butcher’s wrapping paper.
- Plastic Tray
The palette should be very smooth and firm.
Materials you need:
- 11 x 16 inches glass
- white paper
- Duct Tape
- Firm piece of wood or board.

Glass, wood
Step 2
Tape all materials firmly
Assembly carefully
Step 3
Tape four sides smooth and secure
Tape above glass and below all layers.
